What’s ahead for the United States in 2023?
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
Many are saying farewell (or good riddance) to 2022. There is no doubt that the past year, as well as the previous two years, have been difficult not only for the United States, but the world.
Although this reading focuses on the United States, by no means does it diminish the people of other countries throughout the world. They’ve had equal challenges, and yes, some triumphs. But traditionally, what happens in the United States has a cascading affect to the rest of the world.
So, what does 2023 hold for the United States?
Normally, I’ll stick to 3-5 cards for an overview reading. However, my instincts guided me to choose 12 cards. Each card represents a higher theme that may impact our direction as a country and a people.
Tarot cards reflect the energy that exists in the universal field of consciousness. At the time of this reading (January 1, 2023), the field shows high emotions, hope, recovery, change, and a new energy where the impossible is possible.
Remember that people have free will. Every decision creates a new timeline. While creating your new year resolutions, include positivity, truth, hope, faith, and love.
Because in the end, love and light will always win.
Card #1: Six of Cups | THE PREVIOUS YEAR IN SUMMARY
The Six of Cups card is about nostalgia and investigative work.
During the previous year, we (The People) traced the steps of history to determine how we got to our present situation. There is a lot of investigative work happening to pull back the layers of the artichoke. People, situations, and things that were hush-hush and/or covered up started to reveal themselves in 2022.
As light started to shine on the darkness, it sparked widespread feelings of nostalgia and a longing for the way things used to be. The United States and its citizens are forever changed. The lessons learned were necessary for a new future energy.
Card #2: Five of Pentacles | LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE PAST YEAR
The Five of Pentacles is about hard times not only financially, but physically. It means that we may limp from the battle, but we will not lose the war.
The people of the United States (and the world) have been hit hard economically and socially through challenging world events. Many seem to have lost faith in the future and wonder how they’ll continue making it through tough times. This has led to feelings of isolation and a fear of reaching out to others (or admitting) they need help.
People have learned to be more frugal and take a deeper look at what is important. The five of pentacles is a reminder that although things might look destitute, as Americans, we are never out. We comeback fighting with a vengeance. In other word, we may lose a battle, but not the war.
Card #3: Ace of Cups | ASPIRATIONS FOR THE NEXT 12 MONTHS
Aces are beautiful cards that represent new beginnings, and the cups are all about emotion.
Right now, many people in the USA are running high on emotion. Over the next 12 months, the USA will experience emotional situations that are not only challenging but could be satisfying in the end (i.e., we had to go through it to see the light).
The Ace of Cups reminds us that if we want to move forward and create new opportunities, we must first lay the past to rest instead of covering it up.
Card #4: Queen of Pentacles | THINGS THAT EMPOWER THE USA TO ACHIEVE OUR DREAMS
Like the People of the United States, the Queen is a nurturer of her physical environment. She’s practical, efficient, and hands-on.
American empowerment will only come by understanding our financial situation and revealing the truth as to how we got here. Once the People see the truth, they will take back their power and nurture a new financial future.
The Queen of Pentacles is a reminder to ground ourselves in what’s important. Only then can we become responsible and efficient caregivers of our future.
Card 5: King of Cups | BLOCKAGES THAT KEEP THE USA FROM MOVING FORWARD
The King of Cups is about emotion. Emotions can cloud reason. The people of the United States are very caring and giving. The powers that be know this.
The King is logical, wise, and discerning. By tugging on people’s emotions, they tend to drop their guard, rationality, and logic. To move forward, this card reminds us to set emotions aside and look at serious situations from a rational and logical viewpoint.
The King knows that blocking the noise is vital to solving problems and maintaining a mature and practical society.
Card #6: The Empress | HOW TO DIRECT OUR RELATIONSHIPS AND EMOTIONS IN THE YEAR AHEAD
The Empress represents an energy of abundance and creativity. It’s a beautiful card.
The people of the United States will build relationships, become resourceful, and channel their emotions to overcome challenges, fuel ideas, and create systems and pathways that give birth to recovery and evolve American ingenuity.
Instinctively, the People will protect this recovery process and ingenuity to make sure we become the country that we need to be.
Card #7: Six of Swords | ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ISSUES FOR THE USA
This card is all about mental transition and healing.
When facing emotional issues over the next year, this card reminds us to look at the facts and remove the emotion so we can see the entire situation at a distance.
It also teaches us to expand our minds and that the revelation of new truths will lead to an overhaul of our belief system.
Old systems under an old energy will be dismantled, as it no longer balances the new energy that’s coming to replace it.
Card #8: The Hierophant | HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF THE USA
The Hierophant represents a leader or authoritative figure bound by tradition and one who bets on the conformity of the masses.
This energy reminds us that real empowerment comes from inside of you rather than blindly trusting and conforming to so-called leaders and social norms.
This card encourages you to take a step back and critically think about what you are being told and sold. Trust yourself rather than fear mongering.
Health and well-being are possible by building positive, supportive communities and achieving personal spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional balance.
Card #9: Knight of Pentacles | SPIRITUAL ENERGY AND FULFILLMENT
Knights are all about action. Pentacles are about money and physical/Earth resources. In this case, the Knight sits on his horse—focused and confident, yet strategic.
This energy reminds us that daily life will change, and it’s time for the people to take charge. The challenges (past, present, and those to come) will contribute to the people grounding themselves and focusing on practical and tangible aspects of life and responsible financial reform.
Card #10: Four of Cups | WHAT THE PEOPLE OF THE USA NEED TO FOCUS ON IN 2023
This card tells us to focus on the big picture and be grateful!
Disappointment, exhaustion, and constant let down have taken people down a path of becoming absorbed in discontent, apathy, and feeling sorry for themselves. This narrow viewpoint doesn’t allow us to recognize the wins in front of us or see the opportunities ahead. And cutting ourselves off from the world won’t help.
This card reminds us to regain control of ourselves and focus on the big picture. Big changes are coming!
Card #11: The Lovers | THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON FOR 2023
This card is about duality, partnership, and choice. Very important decisions are coming down the pipeline, and they have the potential to dramatically alter the United States and the world.
The Lovers card reminds the people to never forget that we are on the same side. Do not let forces divide us. We must put differences aside and come together as a joint force to make decisions that can change our way of life and history. We must make the right choices together.
Card #12: Seven of Swords (REVERSED) | THEME OVER THE NEXT 12 MONTHS
If I’m being completely honest, I was a little stunned with this card’s appearance.
The Suit of Swords is all about communication and intellect.
This specific card is about deceit, theft, spying, and lying. But this card is reversed.
So, buckle up everyone. You are about to be challenged on everything you thought was real. This card suggests that many truths will be revealed throughout 2023! Things are about to get very real, indeed.
